"On every question of construction, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."
— Thomas Jefferson

Limited Government

We the people, not we the government, built this country. Belief in the individual is what made this country great and free. We each play a part in keeping the greatest nation that ever existed free, but more government is not the answer. I, and all the other soldiers who have fought for this country, did not fight for the government’s right to tell us what to do. We want to carry on what was written in the Declaration of Independence, “Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness”; that is the American way of life. I’ll always fight for less laws and more freedom, regardless of race, creed or religion. We may have different races and ethnic backgrounds but we are all united 1st and foremost as Americans!

A wise and frugal government … shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.” – Thomas Jefferson

10th Amendment/State Sovereignty

I believe that the federal government is interfering in our lives beyond what the Constitution allows, and it’s time that the States take back the power that was rightly given to them in the Constitution by our Founding Fathers.

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation and foreign commerce. … The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives and liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement and prosperity of the State.”           – James Madison

Education

I believe that if we neglect to provide the next generation with a solid education, the nation we know and love will cease to exist. I’ll be a staunch supporter of school choice because I believe that parents can better decide what’s best for their children than the government does. Furthermore, teachers are the building blocks of our nation’s education, and as such, deserve the proper funding to support their undertaking.

“I consider knowledge to be the soul of a republic, and as the weak and the wicked are generally in alliance, as much care should be taken to diminish the number of the former as of the latter. Education is the way to do this, and nothing should be left undone to afford all ranks of people the means of obtaining a proper degree of it at a cheap and easy rate.” –  John Jay

Fair Tax

I’m a huge supporter and fan of the National Fair Tax. The current tax code we currently have is crippling every part of our economy, and forcing corporations to relocate to other countries. I’m a firm believer, due to overwhelming evidence, that increased taxes always leads to a sluggish economy. Therefore, I’ll always fight to lower taxes and regulations. I’ll fight to eliminate our income tax, and replace it with a state fair-tax.

“Collecting more taxes than is absolutely necessary is legalized robbery.”  – Calvin Coolidge

Economic development/job growth

I’m a big supporter of small business, and will be pushing for less regulations and taxes.   I believe that in order to have a thriving economy, the government needs to play a very minimal part in it. We the people build America’s businesses, not the government.

“Beware the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry.” – Thomas Paine

Healthcare

I will staunchly oppose Obamacare at every opportunity. I do not believe that the federal government should control our health care system. We should be taking our health into our own hands and let the free market handle the healthcare situation.   We’ve seen enough examples of countries that have socialized medicine. They have crumbled innovations and cost many lives because of slow health care delivery. All the regulations and frivolous lawsuits are hindering our doctors from being able to really focus on their patients.

Conservative Values

Pro Life

I believe life starts at conception, and that in every little fetus is the seed of greatness. Each one is a little person that has something amazing to contribute to the world.

Pro Family

A powerful, solid, stable country cannot exist without the foundation of strong, united families!

Pro 2nd Amendment

I’ll always support the RIGHT to Bear Arms.

“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” – U.S. Constitution

Pro Military

I’ll always show support and gratitude for the over 1.3 million soldiers who have given their lives for this great nation, and for the soldiers who are currently in harms way.   I’ll always support the organizations that give back to them and help in their transition from military life to civilian life. I also support teaching our children the history of our country’s founders and heroes. The next generation should grow up with a sense of pride and respect for the heritage of America.

My Promise to YOU

I will always apply a 4 way test to every bill that comes before me:
1. Does it reduce or expand government?
2. Is it the proper role of government?
3. Does it promote personal responsibility?
4. Does it support family values?

“We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.” – Ronald Reagan
